Following concerns about the energy supply markets, we announced in February 2008 that we would investigate these markets for domestic and small business customers.
On 6 October 2008, we published our initial findings report from this investigation. The investigation found that the market works well in a number of important respects. However, we have identified areas where there are issues that need to be addressed. As a result, we are proposing a package of measures to address these issues (consultation on these closed on 1 December 2008). Next steps will be to seek agreement with suppliers on the proposed reforms, modified as appropriate in the light of comments received from all stakeholders.
